From June 21 to 23, 2024, the opening ceremony of the Clinical Technical Cooperation support Unit for Medical Physicists (Nuclear medicine) of China National Health Association and the fourth offline practical training course for Medical Physicists (Nuclear medicine) was successfully held in the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University. The meeting was presided over by Wang Pengcheng, vice president of the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University.

Zhao Yanhong, President of Nuclear Medicine Branch of China National Health Association, Expert of Radiological Health Standards Committee of China National Health Standards Committee, Professor Geng Jianhua, Vice President of Nuclear Medicine Branch of China National Health Association, Zhang Zhenyu, Vice President of Hebei Medical University, Secretary of the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University, Hou Zhiyong, President of the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University, Qu Yan, Director of the Research Department of the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University; Wei Lingge, Director of the Nuclear Medicine Department of the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University; Xie Peng, Deputy Director and Fu Peng, Deputy Director of the Nuclear Medicine Branch of the Chinese National Health Association; Yu Xiaoxiao, expert of the Nuclear Medicine Branch of the Chinese National Health Association; Wang Xinqiang, Professor of the Nuclear Medicine Department of the Sixth Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital; Zhang Jianxing, deputy Secretary-General of the Nuclear Medicine Branch of China National Health Association, heads of relevant departments of the hospital and students from more than 10 provinces and cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou participated in the awarding ceremony.

In his speech, Secretary Zhang Zhenyu expressed his gratitude to the Chinese National Health Association for establishing a clinical technical cooperation support unit in the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University and its branch for their support and help to the hospital. The development history, development status, development prospect, hospital advantages, talent construction and department characteristics of the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University and nuclear medicine were introduced. He said that the hospital attaches great importance to the offline practical training of medical physicists (nuclear medicine), and hopes to take this opportunity to further strengthen academic communication with fellow professionals in China and the province, and further build the nuclear medicine department of the hospital into a discipline with advanced strength and characteristics.

In his speech, President Zhao Yanhong first expressed his gratitude for the arrival and support of experts and leaders on behalf of the branch, and appreciated the achievements made by the hospital in the field of nuclear medicine application and scientific research. President Zhao introduced the development history and purpose of the Branch in detail, and expounded the importance of establishing a training system for medical physicists and introducing the title system planning for medical physics based on the Medium and Long Term Development Plan for Medical Isotopes (2021-2035). President Zhao stressed that nuclear medicine physicists are the intersection of nuclear medicine and physical engineering, the intersection of regulatory departments and clinical departments, and the intersection of nuclear medicine equipment and clinicians. The construction of nuclear medicine physicists is the fundamental guarantee for the high-quality development of nuclear medicine, and it is also the most important link in the face of environmental protection and quality control. However, China's current training and professional title recognition of medical physicists are still not perfect, and the talent gap is huge. It is hoped that both sides can work together to train more nuclear medicine professionals to better serve the society and the people. We will promote high-quality development of nuclear medicine in our country.

In his speech, Professor Geng Jianhua first thanked the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University for its great attention and cooperation, and stressed that the development of an industry cannot be separated from the support of the leaders of various hospitals, and also believed that the nuclear medical physics industry would surely develop to a new height. The development of the hospital and the industry is complementary, and I hope to take this opportunity to promote each other and improve together.

In the warm applause, President Zhao Yanhong and President Hou Zhiyong jointly unveiled the clinical technical cooperation support unit for medical physicists (nuclear medicine). After the ceremony, the hospital led the branch leaders and students to visit the History Hall of the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University to further understand the development history and brilliant achievements of the hospital.

In the fourth offline practical training course for Medical physicists (Nuclear medicine) held in the same period, Director Wei Lingge made a speech at the opening of the class, and Professor Geng Jianhua, Director Xie Peng, Professor Wang Xinqiang and experts from Ruipai Medical made a special report on the subject construction, development strategy, personnel training, quality control and other related content. At the theoretical level, it explained to the students the key points of environmental assessment in the workplace of nuclear medicine diagnosis and treatment, the interpretation and key points of the detection standards of SPECT, PET and CT, the quality problems of nuclear medicine images and their causes, the composition and principle of medical cyclotron, etc. And led the students to SEPCT uniformity, maximum count rate, resolution and linearity, sensitivity, PET spatial resolution, sensitivity and many other quality control links practical operation demonstration.

At the end of the training, all participants participated in a rigorous assessment, which comprehensively tested the knowledge and skills learned during the training. President Zhao Yanhong made a summary of this training meeting, hoping that all students can gain something from this training and jointly contribute to the development of nuclear medicine in China.
