Repair medical therapy in the first medical physicist (nuclear medicine) training course to conduct practical teaching

       From May 27 to 28, the first offline practical operation course teaching of the medical physicist (Nuclear medicine) training base jointly built by the Nuclear Medicine Branch of the Chinese National Health Association, the Training Department of the Chinese National Health Association, the Nuclear Science and Technology College of the University of South China, Jiaxing First Hospital and Zhejiang Repair Medical Technology Co., Ltd. was successfully held in Jiaxing First Hospital. A total of 20 technical personnel from major medical institutions across the country participated in the training.

       Repair medical as a teaching unit, by the physical training base head and Rui Pai medical operation general manager Luo Lixiao, China National Health Association expert committee expert and Rui Pai medical senior engineer Ding Baoqiang, senior engineer Wu Lilong as a lecturer, for everyone to demonstrate the whole process of PET, SPECT stability detection.
        On the 27th, lecturer Ding Baoqiang briefly interpreted the PET quality control testing standard WS817-2023 newly issued by the Health and Health Commission. He focused on the project of PET stability detection and its technical requirements, the preparation work before detection and the points that should be paid attention to in the detection process, the detection method of PET spatial resolution, and the detection method of PET sensitivity in the future. Then, the students went to a PET machine room in Jiaxing City for on-site learning and observation. They deeply understand the whole process of detection model positioning, radioactive source preparation and computer acquisition and processing, and help students experience and deeply understand each key operation step and deepen their memory through on-site practical exercises.
       In the afternoon, in the conference room of the base, each student personally tried to make a point source for PET spatial resolution detection and a line source for PET sensitivity detection, and through personal experience, they basically mastered the preparation skills of radioactive sources and how to avoid some easy mistakes.
       On the 28th, in the SEPCT machine room of Jiaxing City, lecturer Ding Baoqiang briefly interpreted the SPECT quality control testing standard WS 523-2019 issued by the Health and Health Commission. This paper mainly introduces the projects and technical requirements of SPECT stability detection, the preparation work before detection, the points to be paid attention to in the detection process, and the basic meanings and detection methods of SPECT uniformity, SPECT resolution and linearity, SPECT sensitivity and maximum count rate. Then the students watched and learned the whole stability detection process of SPECT, while learning, communication and discussion, theory combined with practice, everyone is very enthusiastic about learning, but also feel full of harvest.
In the whole training process, lecturer Luo Lixiao and Lecturer Wu Lilong demonstrated and explained the use process of computer software and the specific meaning of each step for the students.
Finally, lecturer Luo Lixiao led the students to visit the Ruipai Medical equipment room and the nuclear medicine imaging equipment core components exhibition room. He introduced the internal structure and working principle of SPECT and PET to the students in detail before opening the shell of many devices, and led the students to watch the PET detector module, probe signal analog-digital conversion board, motion control board, slip ring carbon brush, sodium iodide crystal, photomultiplier tube, collimator and other objects that are rarely seen. Let the students have a deeper understanding and a more comprehensive understanding of these high-end nuclear medicine equipment.
       This training course changes the usual pure theoretical teaching, emphasizes practical exercise, emphasizes the combination of theory and practice, breaks the mystery of high-end medical equipment for the students, solves the confusion that has been lingering in the minds of the students, and gives the students a completely different experience. Seeing is believing can enhance understanding and strengthen memory, hands-on can master skills and enhance confidence, and some precautions emphasized in the training process can also guide students to avoid stepping on the pit when operating on their own in the future.
