On November 17, 2023, the 3rd East Asian Nuclear Medicine Joint Academic Conference, the 18th China-Japan Nuclear Medicine Exchange Association Working Conference and the 63rd Annual Conference of the Japan Nuclear Medicine Association and the 43rd Annual Conference of the Japan Nuclear Medicine Technology Society were grandly opened in Osaka, Japan.
The conference is jointly supported by the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Asian-Oceanian Union for Nuclear Medicine and Biology, the Nuclear Medicine Branch of the Chinese Nuclear Society, the Japan Nuclear Medicine Association and the Japan Nuclear Medicine Technology Association. In order to consolidate the exchanges and cooperation between China and Japan in the field of nuclear medicine and promote the further development of nuclear medicine in East Asia, this conference has been fully restarted offline after three years, inviting many experts and professors in the industry to express their opinions and discuss together. At the same time, taking the opportunity of the industry colleagues to gather together, a series of wonderful concurrent meetings were held, including the 16th China-Japan Nuclear Medicine Joint press Conference and the Mammary special PET seminar.

At the 3rd East Asia Nuclear Medicine Joint Academic Conference, Professor Li Yaming, chairman of the East Asia Nuclear Medicine Alliance, said that East Asia has rich research sample resources and advanced medical systems, and should serve as an important engine to promote the vigorous development of nuclear medicine research to help make new breakthroughs in the field. It is hoped that all scholars and experts will take this platform to actively participate in and exchange with each other, strengthen the close cooperation between East Asian countries, and jointly contribute to the beautiful development of nuclear medicine.


Professor Huang Gang, Chairman of the Asian-Oceania Alliance for Nuclear Medicine and Biology, attended the conference and stressed in his speech that it is crucial to deepen nuclear medicine exchanges in East Asia, promote cross-border expertise sharing, and improve the level of medical research. He said that in the future, he will be committed to expanding this exchange and cooperation model to West Asia, South Asia and Central Asia, setting a model and playing a leading role in the prosperity of the nuclear medicine industry in the entire Asian region, and promoting the comprehensive prosperity of the nuclear medicine industry.


In the academic exchange link, 15 scholars and experts from Chinese Mainland, Macao, Taiwan and Japan were divided into three sections for publication. Among them, Professor Zhao Jinhua from the First People's Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University gave a special speech on "PET/CT and PET/MR imaging of lymphoma" at this stage, emphasizing the importance of this field and calling on East Asian countries to actively participate in the research of this topic.


In the outstanding speeches of the contestants, after the preliminary selection, Professor Du Bulin from the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University gave a speech on the theme of "Standardized training of Chinese Nuclear Medicine residents", which won unanimous praise from the judges at home and abroad in the 3rd East Asia Nuclear Medicine Joint Academic Conference, and finally won the silver award.


At the working meeting of the East Asia Nuclear Medicine Alliance, Chinese representatives and representatives of East Asian countries discussed the improvement of the media of the East Asia Nuclear Medicine Alliance and its future development direction.


       During the discussion, Professor Li Yaming made it clear that the 4th East Asia Nuclear Medicine Joint Academic Conference will be held in Shenyang in 2025, and said that the East Asia Nuclear Medicine Joint Academic Conference, as a platform for academic exchange, provides an opportunity for scholars, experts and practitioners of various countries to conduct in-depth discussions, share experience and cooperate, and encourages scholars from East Asia to actively participate.

The China-Japan Nuclear Medicine Exchange Association ushered in the tenth year of its establishment at this conference. At the 18th Working Conference of the China-Japan Nuclear Medicine Exchange Association, representatives of experts in the field of nuclear medicine from China and Japan actively participated and jointly decided to jointly write a study series for the special examination of the Asian-Oceanian Nuclear Medicine and Biology Union based on the existing learning content of China and Japan. The decision aims to integrate the expertise of China and Japan in the field of nuclear medicine and provide more comprehensive and systematic learning materials for professionals in the field of nuclear medicine and biology in Asia and Oceania. In addition, the expert representatives also conducted in-depth discussions on the development status of the field of breast nuclear medicine, and jointly agreed on measures to further promote.

 
Professor Jia Qiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Nuclear Medicine Branch of the Chinese Nuclear Society and head of the Physics Group, attended the meeting and discussed the compilation of textbooks for nuclear medicine technicians in China and Japan. At the meeting, the two sides clarified the cooperation plan, and the Chinese side promised to work with Asian countries to jointly produce an Asian version of the nuclear medical technician textbook after the Japanese version is updated and republished, combined with the Japanese version of the re-edited version. It aims to integrate the expertise of China and Japan in the field of nuclear medicine and promote the improvement of the training level of nuclear medicine technicians in Asia.


Professor Hiroshi Waiyama, chairman of the China-Japan Nuclear Medicine Exchange Association, said in his speech that over the past ten years, the China-Japan Nuclear Medicine Exchange Association has achieved fruitful results under the joint efforts of experts from both China and Japan, which has promoted the in-depth cooperation in the field of nuclear medicine between the two countries. While expressing sincere thanks to the Chinese experts represented by Professor Li Yaming, Chairman of the Chinese Committee, he also expressed his expectations for the future development.


In the past ten years, through the joint efforts of China and Japan, the Association has established exchange mechanisms such as the construction of the organizational framework, annual exchange visits and personnel training, and ensured the advancement of the plan of regular annual work meetings. At the same time, the association has made substantial progress in deepening the exchanges in medicine, technology and nursing in the field of nuclear medicine between China and Japan, covering in-depth exchanges in various aspects such as breast PET and cognitive disease. Through the implementation of 9 batches of short-term study and exchange visits of medical, technical and nursing personnel, the joint promotion of talents in the field of nuclear medicine between China and Japan has been promoted.


Through multi-center research work, we have co-compiled important literature on "unexplained fever" and "Chinese Breast Guide". The former is published by Springer, an internationally renowned academic publishing house, which provides strong support for the cooperation between China and Japan in the international academic arena. In order to promote academic exchanges, China and Japan have also published excellent papers recommended by each other in their respective official journals, and continued to promote the joint compilation of case textbooks. It not only promotes knowledge sharing in the field of nuclear medicine between the two countries, but also lays a solid foundation for future cooperation and development.


In the academic exchange forums such as breast PET Seminar and the 16th China-Japan Nuclear Medicine Joint Press Conference, Cheng Liu, Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Fudan University, Li Xiaofeng, Cancer Hospital of Tianjin Medical University, As well as Gu Taoying, Chen Shuguang and Wang Xiangqing of Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University in Shanghai, and Renquanhui MI, a medical corporation A group of experts and scholars, including Clinic Morita Naomi, Nihon University of Medicine Musashi Kosugi Hospital Teiro Sekone, Hokkaido University Hospital Yuki Sawada, and Kinki University Takaichi General Medical Center Hirohei Hanaoka, presented their latest research results in their respective fields.
